Cardinals Sign DTs Tani Tupou & Nigel Williams, Cut Two

The Arizona Cardinals announced Wednesday that they’ve signed defensive tackles Tani Tupou and Nigel Williams to contracts and waived WR Austin Wolf and TE Chris Bazile.

Cardinals defensive linemen Corey Peters and Robert Nkemdiche are both dealing with injuries, so the team could use some help at the position.

Tupou, 25, wound up signing on with the Seahawks as an undrafted free agent out of Washington back in May of 2016. He signed a three-year, $1.62 million contract with the Seahawks but was cut as the team trimmed down to 53 players.

Tupou joined the Falcons following last year’s draft, but wound up being among their roster cuts coming out of the preseason. Atlanta added him to their practice squad a few weeks into the regular season and was on and off of their roster throughout the season.

Atlanta waived Tupou with a non-football injury designation back in April.

In 2017, Tupou appeared in one game for the Falcons but did not record any statistics.
