Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Cardinals still haven’t made any calls to teams in obvious need of a quarterback about a potential trade for Josh Rosen.
Rapoport mentions that he’s spoken with several GMs from other teams who have said they haven’t heard from the Cardinals.
As of now, Arizona has yet to inform Kyler Murray or Rosen of their draft plans. Rapoport says that the Cardinals’ brass plans to meet and finalize their plans for the No. 1 overall pick in the near future.
Meanwhile, the Cardinals open a veteran minicamp on Tuesday and Rosen will be in attendance for these sessions.
Yesterday, Peter King mentioned that “no team in the league has spent more time researching Josh Rosen in recent weeks than Miami.”
King suggests that a third-round pick from the Dolphins could be a “tough call” for Cardinals GM Steve Keim to consider, but it would prevent Rosen from being an “unhappy camper” behind Murray.
While the Cardinals could elect to hold on to Rosen, who will have an affordable contract over the next few years, King believes Arizona will be inclined to make the best deal they can for him.
Rosen, 22, is a former first-round pick of the Cardinals back in 2018. He signed a four-year, $17,664,284 contract that includes an $10,926,792 signing bonus.
The contract includes a fifth-year option for the Cardinals to pick up in 2021.
In 2018, Rosen appeared in 14 games for the Cardinals and completed 55.2 percent of his passes for 2,278 yards, 11 touchdowns and 14 interceptions.
