Kansas City Chiefs GM Scott Pioli refuted speculation that they were considering a trade for WR Dwayne Bowe on Thursday, while making an appearance on WHB Kansas City.
“I will say (the trade rumor) is unequivocally 100 percent untrue,” Pioli said, via Sports Radio Interviews. “We never talked with anyone about a trade for Dwayne Bowe. … We did not talk nor are we looking to talk with anyone about a trade for Dwayne.”
To be honest, I’ve yet to come across anything creditable report suggesting that the Chiefs were even considering the idea, so it’s really not surprising to see the Chiefs squash the idea. Bowe is clearly their best weapon in the passing game and even though they’re hoping to see Jonathan Baldwin take a big step next season, Bowe will be looked to often. Kansas City franchised him back in March, so his long-term future with the team is certainly in question.
