Chiefs Plan For Dwayne Bowe & Brandon Carr

Josh Looney of the KCChiefs.com takes a look at the Kansas City Chiefs options for free agents WR Dwayne Bowe and CB Brandon Carr.

Looney mentions that both players are candidates for the franchise tag but adds that the team will most likely attempt to lockup of the one the two players first.

If Kansas City elects to tag Bowe they’re looking at a guaranteed salary of around $9.5 million for the upcoming season. Carr, on the other hand, would cost about $10.5 million so you can see that it makes sense for the Chiefs to approach Carr about a long-term contract rather Bowe who will most likely be looking to maximize his value at this point.

The Kansas City Star’s Kent Babb suggests that the Chiefs should offer Carr that would put him in the “85 percentile” of cornerbacks and use the tag on Bowe.
