The Kansas City Chiefs officially signed DT Henry Mondeaux to a futures contract for the 2019 season on Thursday.
The Chiefs have now signed 12 players to futures deals including:
- DT Cavon Walker
- LB Martrell Spaight
- WR Josh Crockett
- OT Ryan Hunter
- QB Chase Litton
- LB Rob McCray
- DB D’Montre Wade
- DT Joeyย Ivie
- TE David Wells
- LB Raymond Davison
- OT Pace Murphy
- DTย Henry Mondeaux
Futures deals are essentially camp invites that will give players the opportunity to compete for roster spots during offseason workouts and training camp.
Mondeaux, 23, wound up signing on with the Saints as an undrafted free agent out of Oregon back in May of last year. He agreed to a three-year, $1.71 million contract, but was waived coming out of the preseason.
The Saints later signed Mondeaux to their practice squad before releasing him a few days later.
During his college career at Oregon, Mondeaux recorded 111 tackles, 10 sacks, two fumble recoveries and four pass defenses over the course of four seasons and 41 games.
