Colts Release Veteran S Corey Lynch With Injury Settlement

The Indianapolis Colts announced the release of veteran S Corey Lynch on Friday.

The team placed him on season-ending injured reserve last week, but the two sides managed to workout an injury settlement.

Lynch, 29, signed a contract with the Colts last November that will pay him a base salary of  $730,000 for the 2014 season.

The Bengals used a sixth-round pick on Lynch back in 2008, but he lasted just a year in Cincinnati before joining a number of NFL teams.

In 2013, he appeared in eight games and totaled six tackles while contributing on special teams.
