Tom Pelisseroย reports that the Minnesota Vikings agreement with LB Desmond Bishop is actually a one-year dealย worth $750,000, and includes only $50,000 guaranteed.
- ESPN 1500 reports thatย Bishop’s contract has a max value ofย $1.35 million.
- According to the Packer Report,ย Bishop’s contract with the Vikings is worth just a few grand more than what Green Bay was offering back in March.
The $600,000 difference between his base salary and max value is likely based onย $100,000 in roster bonuses, and $500,000 in incentives related to playing time.
Bishop, 28, is coming off of a pretty serious hamstring injury and reportedlyย suffered aย muscle strain that prevent him from participating in Green Bay’s minicamp, so it’s really not all that surprising to see him secure this kind of contract on the open market.
2013 figures to be a big year for him as he has everything to prove ahead of free agency. He’ll most likely have to compete withย Erin Henderson for the team’s startingย middle linebacker job.
