Dolphins Activate Three From COVID-19 List Including DE Shaq Lawson

The Miami Dolphins announced Friday that they’ve activated DT Davon Godchaux, S Brandon Jones and DE Shaq Lawson off the reserve/COVID-19 list.

This leaves five players on the Dolphins’ COVID-19 list:

  1. G Ereck Flowers
  2. DT Raekwon Davis
  3. DT Benito Jones
  4. G Solomon Kindley
  5. WR Kirk Merritt

Lawson, 25, is a former first-round pick of the Bills back in 2016. He just finished the final year of his four-year, $10.27 million contract that included $9.82 million guaranteed and made a base salary of $1.85 million in the final year of the agreement.

The Dolphins signed Lawson to a three-year, $30 million deal this past March.

In 2019, Lawson appeared in 15 games for the Bills and recorded 32 tackles, 6.5 sacks, one forced fumble and two pass defenses. Pro Football Focus rated Lawson as the No. 52 edge defender out of 107 qualifying players.

Godchaux, 25, is a former fifth-round pick of the Dolphins back in 2017. He’s currently in the final year of his four-year, $2.6 million contract.

Godchaux is in line to be an unrestricted free agent in 2021.

In 2019, Godchaux appeared in all 16 games for the Dolphins and recorded 75 tackles, two sacks and a pass defense for the Dolphins.
