In exchange for the charges being dismissed, Chung has agreed to two years of good behavior, meaning no felony or misdemeanor citations, 40 hours of community service and periodic drug testing.
Chung was indicted this summer on charges of cocaine possession. He had just signed an extension with the Patriots this offseason, adding another year on to the two remaining on his contract.
Chung, 32, is a former second-round pick of the Patriots back in 2009. He spent four years in New England before departing for a three-year deal with the Eagles in 2014.
Chung lasted just a year in Philadelphia before he released and later re-signed by the Patriots. Chung stands to make base salaries of $2.4 million and $2.4 million over the next two years.
In 2019, Chung appeared in 13 games for the Patriots and recorded 51 tackles, no sacks or interceptions and three pass defenses.
