According to Pro Football Talk, Eagles DT Timmy Jernigan has a broken foot. The injury does not require surgery and the current timeframe is four to six weeks.
Jernigan is the second Eagles defensive tackle to go down following the season-ending injury to DT Malik Jackson.
The Eagles declined Jernigan’s option earlier this offseason but elected to bring him back later on at presumably a lower salary.
Jernigan, 26, is a former second-round pick of the Ravens back in 2014. Baltimore later traded Jernigan and a third-round pick to the Eagles in return for a third-round pick in 2017.
Jernigan was in the final year of his four-year, $4.382 million contract that included $2.126 million guaranteed when the Eagles signed him to a four-year extension, $48 million extension that includes $26 million fully guaranteed in 2017.
In 2018, Jernigan appeared in three games for the Eagles and recorded two tackles and no sacks.
