Eagles Hosting WR Jordan Matthews For Visit

According to Jimmy Kempski, free-agent WR Jordan Matthews is in Philadelphia undergoing a physical with the Eagles.

Matthews is a strong candidate to sign with the Eagles, who are in need of some help at the wide receiver position following the injury to WR DeSean Jackson.

Matthews, 27, is a former second-round pick of the Eagles back in 2014. The Eagles traded Matthews and a 2018 third-round pick to the Bills in return for CB Ronald Darby in August of 2017.

Matthews played out the final year of his four-year, $4,949,269 contract before signing a one-year contract with Patriots worth up to $1.7 million. Unfortunately, the Patriots released Matthews during the preseason with an injury settlement and he returned to the Eagles in September of last year.

The 49ers signed Matthews to a one-year, $1.8 million deal back in March but he was among San Francisco’s final roster cuts coming out of the season. He re-signed with the 49ers a few weeks ago but was released again after only one game.

In 2018, Matthews appeared in 14 games for the Eagles and caught 20 passes for 300 yards receiving and two touchdowns.
