Eagles Place Rookie RB Donnel Pumphrey On Injured Reserve With Torn Hamstring

The Eagles officially announced Friday that they’ve placed RB Donnel Pumphrey on injured reserve with a hamstring injury.

Adam Schefter is reporting that Eagles rookie RB Donnel Pumphrey is out indefinitely after he tore his hamstring in practice this week.

The Eagles will move forward with a backfield that consists of Darren Sproles, LeGarrette Blount, Wendell Smallwood and Corey Clement.

Pumphrey, 22, was taken in the fourth-round of this year’s NFL draft. He signed a four-year, $2.97 million contract with the Eagles and stands to make base salaries of $465,000 and $555,000 over the first two years of the agreement.

During his four years at San Diego State, Pumphrey rushed for 6,405 yards on 1,059 attempts (6.0 YPC) and 62 touchdowns. He also caught 99 receptions for 1,039 yards receiving and five touchdowns.
