Eagles Sign CFL CB Mitchell White

The Philadelphia Eagles announced Monday that they’ve signed CFL CB Mitchell White to a future/reserve contract.

  • Aaron Wilson of the National Football Post reports that the Eagles are signing White to a two-year contract.
  • Wilson says that White will likely receive the highest signing bonus ever negotiated for a CFL cornerback.

White is the 10th player to sign a futures deal with the Eagles since their season ended including:

  1. LB Don Cherry (NFLTR)
  2. TE Anthony Denham
  3. G Darrell Green
  4. CB Aaron Grymes
  5. WR Marcus Johnson
  6. C Aaron Neary
  7. DT Aziz Shittu
  8. WR David Watford
  9. WR Rasheed Bailey

White, 26, is an undrafted free agent out of Michigan State who signed on with the Montreal Alouettes of the CFL back in 2014. He has previously worked out for the Bears, Cowboys, Cardinals, Texans and Bengals.

During his three-year career in the CFL, White has appeared in 42 games, recording 97 total tackles and four interceptions.
