The Atlanta Falcons have informed free agent TE Chase Coffman that they will not be extending him a contract offer.
Well it’s been fun Atlanta…I’ve been told I won’t be offered a contract back. Thanks to Mr. Blank, Thomas Dimitroff, Coach Smith, Koetter,

This news comes despite the fact that the Falcons do not have an obvious replacement for Tony Gonzalez on their roster. As things stand right now, Atlanta hasย Levine Toilolo,ย Adam Nissleyย andย Mickey Shulerย on their roster.
Coffman, 27, signed with theย Falcons two years ago, but he clearly didn’t show enough during his time in Atlanta to convince them that he could help to mitigate the loss ofย Gonzalez on any level.
Last year, he played justย 28 offensive snaps, according to Pro Football Focus.
