According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Media, free agent DE Derrick Shelby visited with the Seahawks on Thursday and is now heading to Cleveland to meet with the Browns.
It’s worth mentioning that signing Shelby to a contract won’t impact a team’s 2019 compensatory picks, given that he was released this offseason.
Shelby, 28, originally signed now with the Dolphins as an undrafted free agent out of back in 2012.ย He played out his rookie contract with Miami before joining the Falcons for the 2016 season.
Shelby was entering the third year of his four-year, $18 million contract that included $7.5 million guaranteed when the Falcons released him last week in a move that freed up $3.25 millionย of available cap spacce.
In 2017, Shelby appeared in all 16 games for the Falcons and recorded 30 tackles and a sack.
