Calvin Watkins of the Dallas Morning News reports that free agent DE Michael Bennett is still looking to play in 2020.
Bennett has been a free agent for the better part of a month, but hasn’t generated any reported interest. Even so, he’s still among the best available players and was able to produce four sacks in a limited amount of time with the Cowboys.
Bennett, 34, began his NFL career with the Buccaneers and spent four years in Tampa Bay before signing on with the Seahawks as a free agent back in 2013. Seattle signed him to a new four-year, $39 million contract before trading him to the Eagles a few years ago.
From there, the Eagles sent Bennett to the Patriots for a fifth-round pick and he was later traded to the Cowboys before the deadline last year.
In 2019, Bennett appeared in 15 games for the Patriots and Cowboys and recorded 32 tackles and 6.5 sacks. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 61 edge rusher out of 107 qualifying players.
We have him included in our Top 100 Available 2020 Free Agents list.
