Field Yates of ESPN reports that free agent LB Kentrell Brothers has been suspended for the first nine weeks of next season.
This is the second suspension of Brothers’ NFL career, which is why this is longer than normal.
Brothers, 27, is a former fifth-round pick of the Vikings back in 2016. He played out the final year of his four-year, $2.57 million contract and made a base salary of $720,000 for the 2019 season.
Brothers has been testing the open market as an unrestricted free agent since March.
In 2019, Brothers appeared in 13 games for the Vikings and recorded 22 tackles and no sacks.
