According to Ian Rapoport, the Giants are hosting Clemson DE Clelin Ferrell and Houston DT Ed Oliver on official visits this week.
The Giants are looking into adding help on the defensive line and both Oliver and Ferrell are among the top DL prospects in this class.
The Giants hold both the No. 6 and the No. 17 overall picks in the first round.
Oliver, 21, is a really intriguing prospect, who has tested really well throughout the draft process. There’s even been talk about some teams wanting him to play linebacker at the next level.
Oliver could end up being a top-10 pick when all is said and done.
During his three-year college career at Houston, Oliver recorded 192 tackles, 53 tackles for a loss, 13.5 sacks, five forced fumbles, a recovery and 11 pass defenses over the course of 32 games.
Ferrell, 6-5, 260lb, is widely considered to be one of the top edge rushers this year’s draft class, and it would not be surprising to see him end up as a top 10-15 pick when all is said and done.
During his college career at Clemson, Ferrell recorded 166 tackles, 50.5 tackles for a loss, 27 sacks, five forced fumbles, a fumble recovery returned for a touchdown and five pass defenses over the course of 44 games.
