Dan Duggan reports that the Giants are re-signing RB Robert Martin to their practice squad now that he has officially passed through waivers unclaimed on Thursday.
The Giants will need to make a corresponding roster move, as they’re currently at the 10-man limit:
- CB Grant Haley
- TE Garrett Dickerson
- OLB Avery Moss
- LB Calvin Munson
- WR Alonzo Russell
- WR Jawill Davis
- RB Jhurell Pressley
- OT Victor Salako
- LB Ukeme Eligwe
- DL Josh Banks
- RBย Robert Martin
Martin, 23, wound up signing a three-year, $1.71 million contract with the Giants as an undrafted free agent out of Rutgers back in May. He managed to make the 53-man roster coming out of the preseason, but was unfortunately waived on Wednesday.
During his college career at Rutgers, Martin rushed for 2,274 yards on 449 carries (5.1 YPC) to go along with 20 receptions for 135 yards receiving and 18 total touchdowns over the course of 43 games.
