According to Adam Schefter, Giants TE Evan Engram has a sprained MCL which will make it challenging for him to play Thursday night against the Patriots.
New York will already be without RB Saquon Barkley (ankle) and WR Sterling Shepard (concussion) against New England. Being without Engram would leave the Giants even more shorthanded against the undefeated Patriots.
Engram, 25, is a former first-round pick of the Giants back in 2017. He’s currently in the third year of his four-year, $10.71 million contract and stands to make base salaries of $1.43 and $1.92 million over the next two years of the agreement.
The Giants will have a fifth-year option to pick up in 2021.
In 2019, Engram has appeared in five games and caught 33 passes for 373 yards receiving and two touchdowns.
