Jaguars Claim S Josh Jones Off Waivers From Cowboys

Field Yates reports that the Jaguars claimed S Josh Jones off of waivers from the Cowboys on Monday.

Jones, 25, was a second-round pick by the Packers out of North Carolina State in 2017. He was entering the third year of a four-year, $4.2 million deal and was slated to make base salaries of $849,856 and $1,042,284 the next two seasons when Green Bay waived Jones with a non-football illness in September.

Jones passed through waivers unclaimed and signed on to the Cowboys’ practice squad before being called up in November. He was waived last weekend.

In 2019, Jones appeared in six games for the Cowboys and recorded one tackle.
