Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel writes that Packers TE Jermichael Finley could be in danger of losing some playing time to second-year TE D.J. Williams.
Packers head coach Mike McCarthy reportedly would prefer to rely less on Finley this season and considering that Williams has shown a solid improvement in both his route running and ability to catch the football, it does make sense for them to at least consider the idea.
Green Bay gaveย Finley a two-year extension months ago, but he had some well documented drops last season. Williams could allow the Packers to move on from Finley in the next couple of years, assuming that he continues to develop as an NFL tight end.
