Adam Schefter reports that NFL Network draft analyst Daniel Jeremiah is under “serious consideration” for a “prominent” from office position with the Jets.
This comes shortly after the news that the Jets have fired GM Mike Maccagnan.
A number of reports have connected Eagles VP of player personnel Joe Douglas to the Jets as a likely replacement for Maccagnan.
Schefter mentions that Douglas is close friends with Jeremiah, which is likely why he’s being seriously considered for a potential front office job. Jeremiah and Douglas spent five years together while they were with the Ravens from 2003-07.
Jeremiah, 41, worked for a few teams as an NFL scout including the Ravens, Browns and Eagles. He was hired by the NFL Network in 2012.
Jeremiah actually replaced Mike Mayock as the NFL Network’s top draft analyst after he was hired by the Raiders as their GM this past January.
We’ll have more regarding the Jets as the news is available.
