Rod Boone of Newsday reported last night the New York Jets are prepared to release LB Bart Scott in the coming weeks.
Scott, 32, has been largely ineffective this season and has seen his role decrease to that of a part-time player. The Jets would be on the hook for $5.6 million if they chose to keep Scott but there’s no way that they’re going to pay a part-time player that much money when there are plenty of roster decision to be made.
Despite the fact that his skill set has regressed, Scott should still have plenty of interest if the team does end up releasing him.
