According to Adam Schefter, the Jets are re-signing starting nickel CB Brian Poole.
The deal is for one year and $5 million, per Brian Costello, giving Poole another crack at the open market next season.
Poole, 27, wound up signing on with the Falcons as an undrafted free agent out of Florida back in 2016. He managed to make the 53-man roster in each of his first three seasons.
Poole was in line to be a restricted free agent when the Falcons declined to tender him a contract. He later signed a one-year contract worth $3.5 million with the Jets for the 2019 season.
In 2019, Poole appeared in 14 games for the Jets and recorded 59 tackles, one interception returned for a touchdown, one forced fumble, five pass defenses and a safety. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 9 cornerback out of 113 qualifying players.
