Jets Re-Signing CB Morris Claiborne

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Jets are are re-signing CB Morris Claiborne on a one-year contract worth $7 million.

At one point, there were reportedly 8-10 teams interested in Claiborne, but once free agency opened, there was little to no buzz about him.

Claiborne, 28, is a former first-round pick of the Cowboys back in 2012. He played out his rookie contract with Dallas before returning to the team on a one-year, $3 million for the 2016 season.

Last year, Claiborne departed for a one-year contract worth $5 million with the Jets and was once again testing the open market as an unrestricted free agent.

In 2017, Claiborne appeared in 15 games for the Jets and recorded 43 tackles, no sacks, an interception and eight pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 98 cornerback out of 120 qualifying players.

We have him featured in our Top 50 Available 2018 NFL Free Agents list.
