Jordy Nelson mentioned during an appearance on “The Dan Patrick Show” Wednesday that it would be tough for him to say no to Aaron Rodgers if he asked him to return to the Packers.
“[If Aaron Rodgers called] it would probably be hard to say no,” Nelson said, per Andrew Perloff.
Nelson just announced his retirement from the NFL, despite drawing some interest as a free agent. However, it sounds like he’s open to continuing his career in the right situation.
Rodgers and Nelson were quite the tandem over the years, so it’s likely he’d only consider a return involving the Packers.
Nelson visited with the Seahawks since becoming a free agent and reportedly had interest from four other teams.
Nelson, 33, is a former second-round pick of the Packers back in 2008. He was entering the final year of his five-year, $43 million contract when the Packers released him last year.
The Raiders later signed Nelson to a two-year, $15 million contract, but was released last month.
For his career, Nelson played 10 seasons for the Packers and Raiders and caught 613 passes for 8,587 yards receiving and 72 touchdowns over the course of 151 games played. He was a Pro Bowl selection in 2014 and was named Comeback Player of the Year in 2016.
