Lions Release Veteran TE David Ausberry From I.R.

The Detroit Lions officially released veteran TE David Ausberry from injured reserve on Tuesday with an injury settlement.

  • The Lions also placed C Darren Keyton on season-ending injured reserve.

Ausberry, 27, is a former seventh round pick of the Raiders back in 2011. He wound up playing out his rookie contract with Oakland before becoming an unrestricted free agent this offseason.

Detroit later signed him to a contract back in June, but he was unfortunately placed on injured reserve last week.

In 2014, Ausberry appeared in six games for the Raiders and caught two passes for 14 yards receiving and no touchdowns. Pro Football Focus has Ausberry down for playing just 36 total snaps last season.
