Lions Sign CB Brandon McGee, Waive CB Keith Lewis

The Detroit Lions announced Tuesday that theyโ€™ve signed CB Brandon McGee to a contract and placed CB Keith Lewis on waivers.

McGee, 25, was taken by the Rams in the fifth round of the 2013 NFL draft. He was unfortunately among the teamโ€™s roster cuts last year, but later returned to the Ramsโ€™ practice squad.

Unfortunately, the Rams cut McGee loose midseason and later signed to to the Giantsโ€™ practice squad before the Cowboys gave him a one-year, future/reserve contract in January.

McGee was placed on I.R. close a few months ago after he cleared waivers. The Cowboys later waived him with an injury settlement.

In 2015, McGee was active for just a single game and did not record a statistic.

Lewis, 27, originally signed on with the Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent out of Virginia-Lynchburg back in 2014. He lasted just a few months in Tampa Bay before signing a future/reserve contract after the season.

The Chiefs elected to sign him to a future/reserve contract back in January, but cut him loose not too long ago. The Lions later signed him to a contract in June.

Lewis has yet to appear in an NFL game.
