According to Dave Birkett, the Lions have released WR Geremy Davis.
Detroit has started trimming its roster down ahead of cutdowns and Davis is the first to go.
Davis, 28, is a former sixth-round pick of the Giants back in 2015. He lasted over a year and a half in New York before he was signed off of the Giants’ practice squad by the Chargers towards the end of the 2016 season.
Davis returned to the Chargers in 2018 on a one-year deal. He re-signed with the team on another one-year deal as an unrestricted free agent in 2019.
In 2019, Davis appeared in seven games for the Chargers and caught three passes for 38 yards.
