According to Ian Rapoport, one potential landing spot for former Titans HC Mike Mularkey could be with the Browns as their offensive coordinator.
Rapoport says that Browns HC Hue Jackson had interest in hiring Mularkey if he ever became available.
Jackson discussed the possibility of hiring an offensive coordinator for the 2018 season after handling the responsibilities himself the first two years in Cleveland. The Browns interviewed two candidates but have yet to make a hire, so this could be something worth keeping an eye on in the coming weeks.
The Titans officially agreed to part ways with Mularkey on Monday, despite discussing an extension with him in recent days.
Mularkey, 56, began his NFL coaching career with the Buccaneers in 1994 as their tight ends coach. Since then, Mularkey has worked for a number of NFL teams including the Steelers, Bills, Dolphins, Falcons and Jaguars before he joined Ken Whisenhunt’s staff back in 2014.
After Whisenhunt was fired in 2015, Mularkey was elevated to interim head coach and managed to hold on to the job.
During his tenure as the Titans head coach, Mularkey has led them to a record of 20-21 (48.8 percent) and one playoff appearance.
