Eagles statement:
โWe are in the process of gathering more information about Daryl Worley’s arrest this morning.โ
A source close to the situation tells Les Bowen that theย Eagles didnโt give up much to get Worley and it’s possible they may not be keeping him long due to their crowded cornerback corps and this incident.
Worley, 23, is a former third-round pick of the Panthers back in 2016. He’s currently entering the third year of his four-year, $3.23 million contract and set to make base salaries of $630,000 and $735,000 over the final two years of the agreement.
The Panthers traded him to the Eagles in return for WR Torrey Smith last month.
In 2017, Worley appeared in 15 games and recorded 64 tackles, one sack, two interceptions and 10 pass defenses.ย Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 89 cornerback out of 120 qualifying players.
We’ll have more regarding Worley’s arrest as the news is available.
