NFL Rumors: Draft, Bears, Packers, & Raiders

Draft

• Aaron Wilson reports that Auburn CB Blake Countess interviewed with the 49ers, Rams, Lions, Seahawks, Patriots, Giants, and Jaguars.
• Tony Pauline reports that Nebraska DT Vincent Valentine had a solid pro day and met one-on-one with the Browns, Lions and Titans.
• According to Pauline, Patriots HC Bill Belichick and Bills GM Doug Whaley were in attendance at Auburn’s pro-day.
• Pauline mentions that Auburn CB Jonathan Jones met with about a half dozen teams the past two days including the Redskins, Lions and Chiefs.
• Minnesota LB De’Vondre Campbell met with the Patriots, Browns and Buccaneers for one-one-one interviews the past two days, according to Pauline.

Bears

• According to Brad Biggs, the Bears are expected to be in play for the Patriots DL Akiem Hicks and Chiefs DE Jaye Howard.

Packers

• Tom Silverstein writes that the Packers won’t feel compelled to get into bidding wars for any of their free agents including: NT B.J. Raji, OLB Mike Neal, OLB Nick Perry and RB James Starks.

Raiders

• Jason La Canfora reports that the Raiders remain at a stalemate with free agent LT Donald Penn.
• La Canfora adds that it’s very likely Penn hits the free agent market and does quite well.
• The Raiders are expected to pursue Ravens OL Kelechi Osemele.
• Vic Tafur reports that the Raiders paid ILB Curtis Lofton $3.5 million of salary in February, but are looking for his replacement.
