NFL Teams Telling A.J. McCarron He Could Be A First-Round Pick?

Alabama QB A.J. McCarron joined The Paul Finebaum Show on Monday to discuss the draft and where he could come off the board on May 8.

Interestingly enough, McCarron says that NFL teams mentioned that they have a first-round grade on him.

“They felt like I could go anywhere from 16-35,” McCarron said, via Al.com. “I believe that, too. At the same time, I don’t have my hopes set on anything. Whatever happens, happens. It’s a blessing for me to even be in this situation.”

The Cowboys hold the No. 16 overall and could use help at positions other than quarterback, even though they have been linked to quarterback prospects in recent weeks. Meanwhile, the Browns hold the No. 35 pick, but there are a few teams drafting behind him that cold have interest in a quarterback.

McCarron has met with a number of teams in need of a quarterback including the Browns, Ravens, Jaguars, Rams, Patriots while canceling a visit with the Titans. The Cardinals have also come up as a team to watch in regards to McCarron.

We have McCarron falling past round two in our most recent 2014 NFL Mock Draft, but that could change later in the week.
