Packers Promote Tom Clements To Offensive Coordinator

Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy referred to todayโ€™s decision to promoted QBs coach Tom Clements to offensive coordinator as as โ€œobvious decisionโ€ following Joe Philbinโ€˜s departure for Miami.

Clements was being courted by the Pittsburgh Steelers and even received interviews for a number of head coaching vacancies last month but chose to accept the Packers job. So far, Green Bay has done a pretty good job of maintaining their coaching staff without being purged by other teams.

Aaron Rodgers and Matt Flynn have credited their development to Clements quarterbackโ€™s camp that the team holdโ€™s during training camp each year. McCarthy is still expected to be the teamโ€™s play caller next season which he has done since arriving in Green Bay. Overall, itโ€™s a great move the Packers.
