Packers head coach Mike McCarthy confirmed during his Wednesday press conference that running back James Starks will be out for “multiple weeks,” per Ty Dunne.
MM: Starks’ injury will be “multiple weeks.” Flared up Monday. Thought it was a bruise.

At this point in the season, multiple weeks could very well mean he could miss the remainder of the season. Alex Green now figures to be the Packers feature back with John Kuhn getting some work in on third downs and in goal-line situations. McCarthy also noted that newly signed Packer Ryan Grant will also be active Sunday night against the Lions, so he could be another option Packers on the ground.

Jason Wilde of ESPN Milwaukeeย reports that a source has informed him that Packers RBย James Starks could be done for the season after he suffered knee injury during Sunday’s win over the Vikings.
Wilde’s source adds that the injury is not to his ACL and will not require surgery, but is obviously concerning enough that he his season could be done.
The Packers continue to deal with injuries this season and losing Starks would almost certainly force them to sign someone off the street. Cedric Benson has already been placed on season-ending IR, so it looks like Alex Green and John Kuhn will handle the workload for theย foreseeableย future.
