Packers Reportedly Offered DT B.J. Raji A One-Year, $2M Deal

According to ESPN’s Rob Demovsky, the Packers have offered free agent DTย B.J. Rajiย a one-year contract worth $2 million.

  • Demovskyย adds that Green Bay is still interested in re-signing Raji, even after he sustained a season-ending biceps injury last year.
  • Ian Rapoport of NFL Mediaย previously reported that Rajiย would still like to return to Green Bay next year, but he plans toย weigh offers from other teams.

The Packers have reportedly re-signedย NT Letroy Guionย to a one-year deal, but indications have been that they would like to have both players back next year.

Despite being out for the year, Raji elected to hang around the team, which is something that impressed HCย Mike McCarthy.

โ€œIโ€™m glad he stayed here,โ€ McCarthy said at the Scouting Combine. โ€œIโ€™m glad he stayed with us and was part of the family. I thought it was good having him around, it was good for the young guys. So, hope to get him back, too. Would be great to have him back.โ€

Raji, 28, was forced toย sign a one-year contract worthย $4 million after he found very limited interest on the open market last year.

Unfortunately for Raji, he sustained aย torn right biceps shortlyย before the start of the season and was subsequently placed on season-ending injured reserve.

We have Rajiย listed as the No. 93ย player in ourย Top 100 Free Agents list.
