Packers Sign S Eddie Pleasant, Waive LB Korey Toomer

The Green Bay Packers announced Wednesday that they’ve signed veteran S Eddie Pleasant to a contract and waived LB Korey Toomer.

  • The Packers also signed FB Malcolm Johnson to their practice squad and placed OL Anthony Coyle on the practice squad injured list.

Here’s the Packers updated practice squad:

  1. LB Kendall Donnerson
  2. G/T Adam Pankey
  3. OT Anthony Coyle (injured)
  4. FB Dan Vitale
  5. TE Ethan Wolf
  6. RB Lavon Coleman
  7. LB Brady Sheldon
  8. DL Deon Simon
  9. WR Teo Redding
  10. T Gerhard de Beer
  11. FB Malcolm Johnson

Pleasant, 29, wound up signing on with the Texans as an undrafted free agent out of back in 2012. The Texans cut Pleasant coming out of the preseason before adding him to their practice squad.

Houston elected to re-sign Pleasant to a two-year, $2.15 million contract back in 2016 and he wound up finishing out the deal. After a brief stint with the Patriots, Pleasant signed on with the Cardinals last month. However, he was released a few weeks ago.

In 2017, Pleasant appeared in all 16 games for the Texans and recorded 32 tackles, two sacks, an interception, a forced fumble and three pass defenses.

We have him featured in our Top 50 Available 2018 NFL Free Agents list.
