According to Mike Reiss, the Patriots are bringing in three free-agents for workouts this week including WR Donte Moncrief, WR Darius Jennings, and DT Ryan Glasgow.
Moncrief, 27, is a former third-round pick of the Colts back in 2014. He played out the final year of his four-year, $2.745 million contract before agreeing to a one-year, $9.6 million fully-guaranteed with the Jaguars in 2018.
Moncrief signed a two-year deal with the Steelers last March, but was waived during the season to protect the team’s projected compensatory pick for losing Le’Veon Bell in free agency. The Panthers later claimed him off of waivers before waiving him in December of last year.
He signed with the Jets back in August but was among their final roster cuts coming out of training camp and re-signed to New York’s practice squad. The Jets cut him loose in recent weeks.
In 2019, Moncrief appeared in eight games for the Steelers and Panthers and caught four receptions for 18 yards (4.5 YPC) and no touchdowns.
