Mike Garafolo of NFL Media reports that the Packers spoke to the Patriots, Chiefs, and Browns about a potential trade for DL Mike Daniels before they released him on Wednesday.
According to Garafolo, Daniels has already heard from seven teams since being cut.
Daniels reportedly wants to play for a contender and these three teams are expected to be among those interested in signing him.
For what it’s worth, the Browns have a number of former Packers executives and some coaches on their staff and were one of the teams in the mix to sign DT Gerald McCoy before he agreed to a deal with the Panthers.
Daniels, 29, is a former fourth-round pick of the Packers back in 2012. He was entering the final year of his five-year, $41.66 million contract and set to make a base salary of $7.6 million for the 2019 season when the Packers released him.
In 2018, Daniels appeared in 10 games for the Packers and recorded 18 tackles, two sacks, and a pass defense.
