Patriots DL Chandler Jones Expected To Miss “About A Month” With Hip Injury

Shalise Manza Young of the Boston Globe is reporting that Patriots OLB Chandler Jones is expected to miss “about a month” after he recently suffered a hip injury.

The Patriots defense has already suffered a big loss with Jerod Mayo out for the year after he tore his patellar tendon over a week ago, so this is obviously bad news for the defense.

New England actually swung a trade with the Titans on Tuesday as acquired LB Akeem Ayers and a seventh-round pick for their 2015 sixth-round selection.

Jones, 24, is already among the best pass rushers in the NFL and has recorded 26 tackles, 4.5 sacks, a forced fumble and a recovery over the course of seven games.

Pro Football Focus has Jones rated as the No. 9 outside linebacker in a 3-4 defense this year and a well above average pass rusher.
