According to Field Yates, the Patriots are hosting free-agent WR Demaryius Thomas and RB T.J. Yeldon for a visit on Wednesday.
Thomas was traded to the Texans last year, then subsequently released by the Texans. He was involved in a rollover car accident a few days later and pled guilty to reckless driving.
Thomas, 31, is a former first-round pick of the Broncos back in 2010. He’s entering the final of his five-year, $70 million contract that included $43.5 million guaranteed and was set to make a base salary of $14 million for the 2019 season.
The Broncos traded Thomas to the Texans for fourth- and seventh-round picks before the deadline last year. Houston recently released Thomas in a move that freed up $14 million of available cap space.
In 2018, Thomas appeared in 15 games for the Texans and Broncos and caught 59 passes for 677 yards receiving and five touchdowns.
Yeldon, 25, is a former second-round pick of the Jaguars back in 2015. He played out his four-year, $5.913 million rookie contract that included $3.699 million guaranteed and made base salaries of $615,000 and $705,000 the last two years.
The Jaguars allowed Yeldon to leave in free agency after he ran afoul of VP Tom Coughlin for behavior on the sidelines toward the end of 2018.
In 2018, Yeldon appeared in 14 games for the Jaguars and rushed for 414 yards on 104 carries (4.0 YPC) and one touchdown to go along with 55 receptions for 487 yards receiving and four touchdowns.
