Mike Reiss of ESPN reports that the Patriots reworked S Jason McCourty’s contract last week and reduced his base salary from $2.375 million to $1.6 million.
Reiss says that McCourty has a chance to earn $1 million in playing-time incentives and $400,000 in per-game roster bonuses.
Regarding the incentives in McCourty’s new deal, Reiss explains that he can earn $200,000 for reach 40, 50, 60, 70 and 80 percent of the defensive snaps for a total of $1 million.
