According to Kevin Duffy, Patriots S Patrick Chung has been indicted on the charge of possession of cocaine by the Belknap County attorney’s office in New Hampshire.
According to court records, the incident occurred “on or about June 25” and the indictment was presented August 8.
Chung just signed an extension with the Patriots this offseason, adding another year on to the two remaining on his contract.
Chung, 32, is a former second-round pick of the Patriots back in 2009. He spent four years in New England before departing for a three-year deal with the Eagles in 2014.
Chung lasted just a year in Philadelphia before he released and later re-signed by the Patriots. Chung stands to make base salaries of $2.4 million and $2.4 million over the next two years.
In 2018, Chung appeared in 15 games for the Patriots and recorded 84 tackles, a half sack, an interception, a fumble recovery and three pass defenses.
We’ll have more on Chung as the news is available.
