Jeff Howe of The Athletic reports that Patriots S Patrick Chung is scheduled to undergo surgery for his broken forearm on Thursday.
According to Howe, Chung will wait about three weeks before having shoulder surgery to clean up an issue he played through for the most of the 2018 season.
Howe expects Chung to miss all of OTAs, but return in time for the start of training camp this summer.
Chung, 31, is a former second-round pick of the Patriots back in 2009. He spent four years in New England before departing for a three-year deal with the Eagles in 2014.
Chung lasted just a year in Philadelphia before he released and later re-signed by the Patriots. Chung is entering the second year of his three-year, $10.2 million contract and stands to make base salaries of $2.4 million and $2.4 million over the next two years.
In 2018, Chung appeared in 15 games for the Patriots and recorded 84 tackles, a half sack, an interception, a fumble recovery and three pass defenses.
