According to NBC Sports’ Tom Curran, Patriots WR Mohamed Sanu could miss a couple of weeks with a high ankle sprain.
Sanu suffered the injury during a punt return in Sunday’s 17-10 win against the Eagles.
It’s another big hit to the Patriots’ receiving corps, as New England had just traded a second-round pick for Sanu a few weeks ago.
Sanu, 30, is a former third-round pick of the Bengals back in 2012. He spent four years in Cincinnati before signing a five-year, $32.5 million contract that included $14 million guaranteed with the Falcons in 2016.
Sanu stands to make base salaries of $6 million and $6.5 million over the final two years of the agreement.
In 2019, Sanu has appeared in 10 games, seven for the Falcons and three for the Patriots, and caught 47 passes for 421 yards and two touchdowns.
