The Las Vegas Raiders are bringing in four players for tryouts this week, according to Aaron Wilson.
The full list of players who are trying out includes:
- LB Cale Garrett
- DT Trevon McSwain
- DE Jalen Jelks
- DE Gerri Green
Jelks, 24, is a former seventh-round pick of the Cowboys back in 2019. He signed a four-year, $2.6 million contract and was set to make a base salary of $610,000 for the 2020 season.
Jelks wound up being placed on injured reserve coming out of the preseason and missed his rookie season. The Cowboys then waived Jelks to make room for newly signed DE Everson Griffen.
He was claimed off of waivers by the Panthers back in August but was waived the following month. Jelks was then signed to the Browns’ practice squad that same month but was later released.
During his college career at Oregon, Jelks recorded 155 tackles, 15.5 sacks, an interception, a forced fumble, a recovery, and 11 passes defended.
Green, 25, was drafted by the Colts in the sixth round out of Mississippi State. He signed a four-year deal worth $2.7 million but was waived by Indianapolis coming out of the preseason.
The Patriots signed Green to their practice squad but later released him. He then rejoined the Colts’ practice squad and was signed to a futures/reserve contract at the end of 2019.
The Colts waived Green for a second time and added him to their practice squad before opting to release him ten days later. He then had a ten-day stint on the Washington Football Team practice squad.
During his four-year college career, Green recorded 160 total tackles, 8.5 sacks, three forced fumbles, two recoveries, three interceptions, and six pass defenses in 49 games.
