Ravens Shutting Facility Down Until Monday At Earliest Due To COVID-19 Outbreak

Adam Schefter reports that four more Ravens’ players and one more staff member tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday.

As of now, the Ravens’ Week 12 game against the Steelers is still on as scheduled.

However, a source tells Schefter that he can’t see how this game is played.

“No way it can be played,” the source said.

According to Schefter, the Ravens have decided to shut their facility down until Monday at the earliest.

The Ravens are up to 12 players that have tested positive this week including starting QB Lamar Jackson.

A strength and conditioning coach reportedly failed to discuss symptoms or follow league protocols while at the team’s facility. The Ravens have already disciplined the coach, but considering how serious the NFL has been about teams taking responsibility for their situation, it would not be surprising if further discipline from the NFL could be coming.

As for scheduling, the NFL has very few options at this point, as we’re past the bye week for most NFL teams. They could add a Week 18 and reschedule the game or force the Ravens to forfeit the game.

Although things don’t get any easier, considering that the Ravens are scheduled to play the Cowboys in Week 13 on Thursday.

We’ll have more regarding the Ravens as the news is available.
