Redskins Activate K Dustin Hopkins From IR, Waive K Nick Rose

The Washington Redskins announced Saturday that they’ve activated K Dustin Hopkins from injured reserve and waive K Nick Rose in a corresponding roster move.

Washington placed Hopkins on injured reserve with a hip injury this past October before designating him to return earlier in the week.

Hopkins, 27, is a former sixth-round pick of the Bills back in 2013. He lasted just over a year in Buffalo before he was waived at the start of the 2014 season and later signed to the Saints’ practice squad.

The Redskins would sign him to a contract in 2015 and he’s been with the team ever since.

In 2017, Hopkins has appeared in five games and converted 9 of 11 field goal attempts (81.8 percent) to go along with 12 of 13 extra point tries (92.3 percent).
