Redskins LB Reuben Foster Suffered Torn ACL & LCL, Expected To Be Ready For 2020 Season

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that Redskins ILB Reuben Foster underwent successful surgery on Tuesday to repair a torn ACL and LCL.

Reports had said that Foster had suffered an ACL tear and some additional damage. Rapoport explains that the LCL was the additional damage and Foster is already raising his leg and should be good to go for the 2020 regular season.

Foster suffered the injury just a few reps into the team’s first OTA practice and has already been placed on injured reserve.

Foster, 25, is a former first-round pick of the 49ers back in 2017. The 49ers waived him last year and he was later claimed off of waivers by the Redskins.

Foster is in the third year of his four-year, $9.03 million contract and set to make a base salary of $1.28 million for the 2019 season. The contract includes a fifth-year option for the Redskins to pick up in 2020.

In 2018, Foster appeared in six games for the 49ers and recorded 29 tackles and a pass defense.
